XENTA is delighted to announce a new partnership with Garmin®, the world’s leading navigation product company and a leading player on the marine market.

The partnership will see XENTA technology – specifically its new generation Steering Systems – integrated with the Garmin® autopilot. The NMEA 2000 interface will deliver seamless, in-depth integration to make advanced new concept solutions available and use the rudders independently. At the same time, that integration will also allow Garmin’s Shadow Drive autopilot to be used extremely efficiency – this particular technology allows you to take control of the boat even when the autopilot is engaged.

In the near future, we will also be launching the XENTA App, which will be available for Garmin’s entire display range. This will allow you to display detailed information on all of the XENTA products aboard a craft. The information won’t merely be limited to just the Steering System – it will also be possible to see information about the Joystick, Dynamic Positioning and engine control data on the display.

Integration is probably one of the most iconic words of recent years in every area. The partnership between XENTA and Garmin in the nautical and marine sector is emblematic in this sense and really does put the helmsman at the heart of the project. Managing all the various plant by integrating functions and using shared and increasingly user-friendly human-machine interfaces is the future that companies such as XENTA and Garmin are making available right now.  You only have to compare the bridge of a yacht of a few years back with a current model to see just how much has changed.  Now the trend amongst owners, backed by the yards themselves, is to use one or more multifunction screens of different brands depending on the size of the craft as the only systems required to monitor and control every single device and piece of equipment aboard.
